This course is suitable for those interested in psychology, particularly in psychotherapy and counselling skills. It is designed to offer the participant an insight into the area of counselling looking at some of the approaches and techniques used by psychotherapists today, specifically Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness.
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapeutic approach: a talking therapy. CBT aims to solve problems concerning dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and cognitions (thoughts) through a goal-oriented, systematic procedure in the present. It is particularly useful in dealing with depression, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, etc. Mindfulness is increasingly recognised as a valuable intervention in counselling internationally.
- Cost €150 Payment: Fees for all courses must be paid prior to starting course. Each module must be paid for before that module will commence. All modules must be paid for with cheque, postal order or bank draft. Cash will not be accepted.
