Data Analytics, Business Information Systems and Systems Analysis and Project management are identified by the Irish Government Expert Group on Future Skills Needs as areas where there is a skills shortage in Ireland and consequently a large number of current, live job opportunities for appropriately trained graduates.
The WIT Higher Diploma in Business Systems Analysis has been designed in conjunction with industrial partners most notably the information services division of Sun Life Financial services – to produce graduates matched to these employment opportunities.
This graduate entry course is particularly suited to either business or computing graduates who wish to enhance existing knowledge and up-skill into highly employment roles in business systems and data analysis, and consequent design of systems.
The course content includes Systems Analysis and Design, HCI and Web Design, Database Modelling, Enterprise Software Skills, Web Development, Data Analytics.
A Level 8 qualification in a discipline such as business, engineering, science, maths and physics, healthcare. Alternatively applicants who have gained a minimum of a Level 7 qualification in a course with a significant ICT component are eligible to apply using WIT’s Recognition of Prior Learning mechanism.

English language competency requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English must submit documentary evidence of competency in English. Unfortunately no places can be offered unless candidates present the required certification of English-language competency. So if you don’t have this in place already it is strongly recommended that you apply to one of the testing / certification organisations as soon as possible.

COURSE CONTENT: The course content includes Systems Analysis and Design; HCI and Web Design; Database Modelling; Enterprise Software Skills; Web Development; Data Analytics; Software Validation and Evolution; Project and Change Management.
FEES: Employed people will a fee of €550 for the course with the Government paying the remaining 90% of the course fee on your behalf. The fee will be payable only at the final stage of the application process when you have been offered a place. Timetable Info: Evenings (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (6.30 – 10.00 pm) for 2 semesters 24 weeks
Classes will be circa 17 hours per week in the evening. All candidates will take on a 3-month industrial placement or Industry-led project in June. The dedicated WIT ICT Placement Co-ordinator will support all candidates in gaining placements.
