QQI level 6 in Wexford Campus (IT Carlow) full time over 2years

What is the Course about?

Computing is the study of how computers and computer systems work, are constructed and programmed. As computing increasingly impacts on every aspect of our lives, it is becoming a more evolved and complex area. While computing may be of general interest to students, it’s often difficult to know which area of specialisation is the most suitable. This programme has been designed to give students the broadest possible choice before a specialised area is chosen. This two-year programme provides a general overview of computing in Year 1, Modules include: mathematics; programming; hardware; operating systems; networking and applications; web programming and databases; systems analysis; computer architecture and more.

Special Features:

• This programme has been designed to give students a foundation in computing before a specialised area is chosen.

• Students will follow a ‘learning by doing’ model with continuous assessment replacing final exams.
