The aim of the Level 6 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology, is to provide participants with a working knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical technology and application to the biopharmachem and medtech facilities throughout the region. The programme offers the skill and experience that is required for this growing sector particularly in relation to sterile manufacturing operations. The programme focusses on enabling the practicing professional to enhance their career profile or for the non-practicing participant to improve employability into the Biopharmaceutical and medical device sector.
This Springboard + 2019 programme will be offered to participants irrespective of their employment status over a 12-month duration, and co-delivered with the Higher Certificate in Science (GMP & Technology).
Graduates will be eligible to progress to complete the Higher Cert in Good Manufacturing Practice and progress onwards to a degree in Good Manufacturing Practice. This Springboard + programme will be open to both employed and Jobseeker applicants. Participants will complete either the Work-based project module or the Work placement module.
TIMETABLE
The level 6 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology is delivered 2 evenings per week, Monday and Wednesday 16:15-19:15; plus 4 Saturday’s in Semester 1 for laboratory practicals for Chemistry and Biology (arrangements agreed with the group and Lecturer).
Semester 2, delivery 2 evenings per week as S1 but no Saturday laboratory practicals.

ENTRY
Candidates with a Leaving cert and/or major award in Engineering or Science at level 5 or 6 may apply. All applicants will be subject to interview.
Applicants who do not currently meet the academic entry requirements may wish to consider using WIT’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mechanism. The Springboard RPL form is available at www.wit.ie/schools/education/springboard_ictskills
