This is a one-year QQI (FETCAC) Level 5 full-time course intendied to train and prepare students who have a good standard of general education for interesting and challenging, but rewarding, careers in the secretarial, clerical and administrative areas.

The Course includes modules such as:

Word Processing Accounting and Payroll
Information & Administration Data Entry
Text Production Business Calculations
Spreadsheets Database

Work Experience takes place one day per week in suitable positions in local industrial, commercial and administrative concerns where they have the opportunity to complement their course work with practical on-the-job experience.

For students who wish to further their education, the Higher Education Links Scheme enables holders of F.E.T.A.C. Level 5 to progress to designated third-level Certificates and diplomas in many Institutes of Technology throughout the country.

The students will be prepared for secretarial and clerical positions in the Public Service, Banks, Local Authorities, Health Boards as well as opportunities in local industrial and commercial concerns. Many requests are received each year from employers to fill staff vacancies so we encourage students to keep in regular contact when they complete the course. This course has an excellent record of examination success and job placement.
