Certificate in Group Fitness Instruction is a 7 week part time, level 6 10 credit course in Waterford Institute Technology.
This Certificate in Group Fitness Instruction is a 10 credit course linked to the Level 6 Certificate in Fitness Instruction. It is suitable for students who have successfully completed the Certificate in Fitness Instruction OR who hold another recognised qualification in Fitness Instruction and wish to qualify as a Group Fitness Instructor. The Certificate in Group Fitness Instruction prepares students to lead and choreograph group exercise classes in aerobics, step aerobics, body conditioning and circuit training (including HIIT). This award meets the standards required by REPS Ireand for entry to the Group Fitness Instructor category of the register (www.repsireland.ie)
This part-time course will be delivered over 7 Saturdays, commencing January 2017. The course will take place in Waterford Institute of Technology, utilising the excellent facilities and renowned expertise that the Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Science has developed. This award will emphasise theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to design and deliver group fitness classes for the general population in a safe and effective manner.
